Clean Air:

We Can't -- and Don't – Do it Alone

While the Clean Air Agency has worked for nearly four decades to regulate, inspect and assist business and industry to minimize their impact on our air, some of the biggest recent improvements in air quality have been a result of voluntary initiatives and partnerships.

Our Diesel Solutions program, for example, has enlisted local schools and transit agencies, cities and counties, the maritime community and private businesses to voluntarily clean up their fleets and equipment. Through our Climate Protection program we are working with partners to position our region as a leader in efforts to curb greenhouse gas emissions. And – through various initiatives we address specific air quality challenges in targeted communities.
